A lot of ice cream recipes out there require the use of an ice cream making machine, but I know that not everyone has one at their disposal, so I have brought you this ice cream recipe that does not require a machine. Not only is this one of the easiest, but it is also one of the best homemade ice creams I have ever tasted.

What are the best toppings for vanilla ice cream?

Vanilla ice cream is the perfect pick if you want to add toppings and mix-ins. Here are a few of my personal favorite toppings for vanilla ice cream:

Sauces like hot fudge sauce, caramel sauce, and marshmallow sauce are delicious with vanilla ice cream. Butterscotch can also be nice if you like a super-sweet dessert, but I find it almost too sweet to pair with vanilla ice cream.

Sprinkles are a particularly great topping if you are enjoying ice cream with kids! Choose a variety of colors and shapes to add more personality to your treat.

Toasted nuts

Toasted nuts are a classic topping for vanilla ice cream. Do you really have to toast them? No, but toasting really helps unlock the flavor of the nuts and gives your sundae much more depth of flavor.

How to make a banana split with vanilla ice cream

Take your dessert to the next level by using your vanilla ice cream to make a banana split. Put your banana in an oblong dish or bowl, and split it down the middle lengthwise.

Add three scoops of vanilla ice cream, douse with your favorite sauces (chocolate, strawberry, and pineapple compote are my personal favorites!), and add as much whipped cream as you’d like. Top it with a cherry for a dessert that will really impress.
